How do we find friends in kindergarten? It's certainly not from common interest so much as coincidence. You sit by someone in class, you share the same swing on the playground, etc. etc. Julie and I just happened to be pretty good friends. I think she was the one who had cable in her house, which was enviable at this point in my life, and we exchanged addresses before my family moved to Colorado.
Most people I was friends with early on in elementary school have drifted away... with the exception of Beth, I suppose. But the funny thing is, it looks like we would still have been good friends had we never moved. She's a great looking girl with a friendly face. She stayed in Ballwin all the way through highschool. And she was in marching band for a few years. Geez, I think I had her as a friend in another form in highschool.
So hopefully it's her, and hopefully she wouldn't mind chatting and letting me know what kind of stuff she's up to these days. Maybe she's reading this right now and doesn't remember me at all - and if that's the case, maybe I'll rekindle something... new.
Back to the grindstone with a grin on my face.
