I pick up my robe today... purple robe, with a black cap and pink tassel. (Pink represents the music department.)
Black, purple, and pink... these are the colors I thought matched in second grade. We're at Northwestern, right?? Come on, people!

In other news (since I haven't been updating lately):
-the apartment search is still on for Portland. I put my name in at an apartment I really like: one bedroom, spacious, and a reasonable price range, but get this... WASHER AND DRYER IN EVERY APARTMENT. I've never had that luxury before! I mean, I had free laundry last year when I lived at Susan and Tony's, but I had the wrestle the damn dogs to get to it and it was in the basement whereas I was on the third floor. And I once got locked out of the apartment because of the laundry situation and had to perform a dastardly feat of climbing back in through the bathroom window.
-I got my loan packet from Sallie Mae at this mandatory-by-law meeting for anyone who took out student loans. It was like watching someone say, "Here's concrete evidence that you'll be in debt FOREVER."
-I got a ticket to Colorado, and will be there for a whole week. I'm almost surprised at how excited I am to get there - it really teaches you that you can think a city is really amazing and wonderful but not feel like you belong there in the slightest. Further proof that the relationship between Chicago and me is nearing an end.
It's just, I guess, that I'm done. And while I was bummed for a while, because the real world was screaming toward me like a mack truck, I feel a little happier about it every day. Now I have an entirely new life that'll be starting, really, in a matter of weeks.
And I chose this life. It's completely mine, and no one pushed me in to it. This may be my greatest accomplishment to date.
